Raj and Anjali qualified from Kings College London in 1996 and have been at SW Smiles Dental Care in Battersea since January 2000. Their second clinic, NW Smiles Baker Street, followed in 2009.
All of us at NW Smiles are committed to the continuing development of high-quality patient care. We endeavour to make the most of your smile while ensuring that your visits to us are as comfortable and stress free as possible. All treatments are carried out in state-of-the-art surgeries using high quality equipment with great expertise.
Dr. Raj Rajah

General & Cosmetic Dentist – NW & SW Smiles
Raj went on to become a house officer at Kings College, working in the restorative and paediatric department. In 2000 he then went on to set up SW Smiles Dental Care. Raj has worked steadily at SW Smiles building it into a fantastic aesthetic practice. During this time he has also worked part-time in cosmetic-based practices (in Selfridges & Holborn) which enabled him to keep abreast of a fast changing field. Raj now roks between NW and SW Smiles. He attends courses regularly and has a special interest in root canal therapy, implant restorations and denture work. Currently he is studying an MSc in Dental Implants.Raj has carried out work for one of the contestants on “The American Princess” show and has worked with several other high profile clients.
Dr. Anjali Rajah

General & Cosmetic Dentist – NW & SW Smiles
Anjali completed her vocational training in 1997 and then started working as dentist in a corporate company, eventually going part-time to join Raj at SW Smiles from 2000. In 2003, Anjali started working part-time for a well-established cosmetic based company (featured on ‘Extreme make-over’), she was based in Selfridges, where she performed hundreds of whitening procedures and is experienced in many techniques. During this period she attended various aesthetic-based training programmes which include: the restorative dental course at the Eastman Dental Institute; smile make-over courses and training in botulinum toxin therapy (Botox) and dermal fillers to eliminate facial lines. Anjali also has a special interest in treating nervous patients; she completed a BSc in biomedical sciences which included psychology for nervous patients. Anjali works at both NW and SW Smiles. She continues to enjoy her career and attends courses regularly to keep abreast of all aspects of dentistry, especially aesthetics (e.g. cosmetic dentistry). Anjali has also treated several celebrities over the years and has appeared on “This Morning” for GMTV for tooth whitening.
Dr. Kiarash Banai

Orthodontist – SW Smiles
Dr. Kiarash Banai, attained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Kings College London in 1996. Following a year in General Dental Practice, he entered General Professional Training working as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. During this time he undertook the Membership Examination for the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MFDS RCS) in 1999.
He subsequently entered into higher specialist training as a specialist Registrar in Orthodontics at the Guys, Kings and St Thomas School of Medicine and Dentistry and St Georges Hospital in London. He completed a Masters in Science degree (MSc) in Orthodontics with a published MSc Thesis in 2002. After three years in specialist training, he undertook the Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2003. He is on the General Dental Council specialist list in orthodontics.
His main interests are early treatment, fixed and removable appliance mechanics, multidisciplinary aspect of orthodontics and adult treatment. He is also an active member of the British Orthodontic Society and the European Orthodontic Society.
Dr Shahryar Beheshti

Oral Surgeon – SW Smiles
Shahryar qualified in 1999 from The Royal London Hospital. He has worked in a specialist surgical dental practice, one of the biggest referral centres in Kent for 4 years. In addition , having worked in various maxillofacial units in hospital, during the last 3 years he has gained extensive experience in all areas of oral surgery. It was during this time that he passed the MFDS exam and is a now a member of the Royal College of Surgeons.
He is currently specialising at Guys hospital in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics and this is a testament to his on going commitment to achieving clinical excellence.
Dr. Harpal Channa
Implantologist
Harpal is a part time consultant in restorative dentistry and was appointed at Kingston/ St Georges in 2002. His hospital specialist interests include the
management of cancer patients using implant based reconstructions.
Harpal qualified from Bristol University in 1988 with prizes in conservative and restorative dentistry. He completed his MSc in Conservative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital in 1994 and continued with his specialist training at Kings College and St Georges Hospital.
Harpal has worked in both general and specialist practice and has over 10 years of both surgical and prosthetic implant experience. Harpal has also passed the Californian state boards and he has lectured UK wide and is a educator/trainer for Straumann UK.
